Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter
April 28, 2008
Phillip slept late on Saturday and when I went upstairs to get dressed he was still
in bed, with Spenser by his side. "Spenser has parasites," he announced. I heard this as
"Spenser is a parasite." "Yes, dear," I agreed (why not?), as I examined the contents of my t-shirt drawer.
"No, really, LOOK!" he said, and pointed to what
looked like pieces of uncooked rice on the sheet. I thought back to when Clayton was about two. "That looks like tapeworms!" I announced,
pleased as punch with my diagnosis.
I found an empty prescription bottle, collected some of the evidence,
got dressed and drove off to the vet. Just me and the tapeworm segments, I didn't think
Spenser was required. And he wasn't. My diagnosis was correct, both boys were treated with a single dose of tapeworm killer,
and hopefully we can put all of this behind us, ha ha.
After the tapeworm adventure I spent the rest of Saturday annotating some of my vacation photographs and here are the results. I hope you'll get a little bit of vicarious Jamaican mellow.
